The irony of being a Bulb

The Bulb family needed a change.
Their boring routine was always the same.
One gloomy day, Mr. Bulb told his wife:
'We just need something to light up our lives!'

Their problem was solved nine months later.
When their baby was borned everything seemed better.
There still was a tiny little trouble, though.
The cute young boy was ironically a bulb.

The baby lighted everything up indeed.
Irradiate heat and brightness he also did.
But his parents' company he could never enjoy.
'Cause the so wished-for light their eyes would destroy.
